GOATIES!
MEET THE NIGERIAN DWARF GOATS
MEET LENNY!
Lenny (and his brother Squiggy) were our first goats that arrived at Promiseland Farm as 3-year-old Nigerian Dwarf Goats in August of 2019. We were 4 months into country living and knew we wanted goats one day. We had met Lenny at a local rescue and he was quite mischievous and needed a new home. We were IN! Lenny is a very sly patient goatie, and knows when the gate is about to open and knows how to wriggle through as fast as he can to break free and run around the yard and most often to the chicken coop to wreak havoc on the nesting hens! He is sweet and entertaining and definitely a farm favorite with our guests!
MEET SQUIGGY!
Squiggy is Lenny's partner in crime and came as a 3-year-old Nigerian Dwarf Goat in August of 2019 from the local rescue. Squiggy is an adorable tricolor goat with a trademark "smile" on his left side:). Cute as can be he is first to the fence looking for food handouts from our farm guests. He is sweet, entertaining friendly, and ready to get into a little mischief if the opportunity presents itself. But he is also content snuggling with his brother in a lazy day nap.
MEET ANGUS!
Angus came to Promisland Farm as a 2-year-old Nigerian Dwarf Goat. He was rehomed to us from a farm that was thinning the herd. He is our Alpha male goat and proudly displays that as he struts about the goat run managing who gets to eat and when. He is spunky and playful and gets the zoomies now and then which sets everyone into giggles and laughter. He has a sweet side and can't resist being scratched behind his horns, he just melts off his alpha character you encounter the sweetest little goat you've ever seen!
MEET DARLA!
Darla came as a yearling in February of 2020 and was Angus's half-sister. She is next in line on the goat hierarchy as she and Angus take turns running the herd. Darla is known for her "boxing" or "dancing" on two legs in the pen around the other goats. She is funny and fast and cuter than a bug. Darla has been walked on a leash several times around the neighborhood and the Woodstock Square even! She is a farm favorite with our ministry kids.
MEET FIONA!
Fiona came as Darla's yearling sister in February 2020. She is a tri-color Nigerian Dwarf Goat and is the sweetest of them all. Never instigating trouble, and loving to cuddle she is one of our favorite little goats. Given her calm, sweet disposition, we have taken her on several walks, car rides, and to the Woodstock Square! She and her sister Darla were even photographed at a wedding on the Square. She is used in ministry to teach children how to care for goats and is a very gentle goat for kids to pet and cuddle.
